The ODC and the Softball Canada Equipment & Technical Standard Committee have
approved the use of the Easton Rapture Lacrosse helmet complete with mask for use
by a defensive player in any softball game.

Regional Jr. Women Team

Opportunity exist for players 1991 & later interested Nova Scotia Regional Jr. Women Team for the 2012 season. Team training sessions will take place early 2012 perspective for athletes interested in Regional Jr. Women team. More information will be provided on dates, time and locations of the training and selection sessions at a later date. This Regional team will also be represented at Nationals and other Tournaments in 2012.

PROVINCIAL TEAMS COMMUNICATION

The Provincial Teams program for Softball Nova Scotia has had a successful summer and is preparing for the 2012 season.

Coaching Staff Applications

The call for Head Coach and Assistant Coach applications closed on September 29th and interviews for those positions will take place in early November. Planning for the 2012 Provincial Team programs will take place once the head coaches are in place for the four programs.

2012 Provincial Team Selections

Team selection will take place in early May for the Pee Wee and Bantam provincial teams as well as the Pee Wee and Bantam regional teams. More information will be provided in the follow up-coming weeks.

Skill Enhancement Sessions

Softball Nova Scotia intends to offer skills enhancement sessions for perspective for athletes interested in trying out for provincial and regional teams in May. More information will be provided on dates, time and locations of the skills enhancement sessions in the coming weeks.

Mark Smith’s Elite Pitching Academy

Beginning on November 2nd Mark Smith will be offering an Elite Pitching Academy on Wednesday evenings November through April. There are sixteen spots available in total - four per age group (Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam/Canada Games).

2012 Provincial & Regional Team Girls Softball Programs

An exciting opportunity exists to join Softball Nova Scotia in the following roles; Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers of the 96’, and 97’ Bantam programs and the 98’ and 99’ Pee Wee 2012 Provincial and Regional teams programs.

All four teams will represent Nova Scotia at the Bantam and Pee Wee National Championships and Eastern Canadian Championships in August of 2012.

DEADLINE FOR THESE POSITIONS HAVE BEEN EXTENEDED TO OCTOBER 7TH NOON.
