The Squirt Atlantics Tournament

The dates have been set and the location finalized for the 2011 Squirtgirls Atlantics. It will be held September 17th and 18th weekend in Quispamsis New Brunswick. The tournament host is Kelly Lynch (residence: 1-506-847-5129, cell: 1-506-333-0323), who I am sure will do an excellent job hosting this event.

Registration for this tournament will be done through Peter MacLean the executive/technical director for Softball New Brunswick (1-506-773-3507) who will draw up the tournament schedule and email them out to all teams who want to enter. Any U12 team can enter; register and pay the tournament fee and your in. The tournament fee is $225.00 with a three game guarantee and there will be tiering after the round robin. The official tournament rules will be as follows:

  • 1. All players bat
  • 2. Free substitution of players in and out of the game.
  • 3. Stealing 2nd or 3rd allowed after ball passes home plate.
  • 4. No stealing home from third, no going to first on a third strike strike-out passed ball
  • 5. No bunting
  • 6. 11 inch ball will be used; basepaths at 55 feet and pitching distance will be 35 feet.
  • 7. 11 innings ( 33 outs) is the pitching limit for the round robin for each pitcher; playoffs are open.
  • 8. First 4 innings of each game are closed to 5 runs or 3 outs whichever occurs first all following innings are open.
  • 9. No 15 run rule after 3 innings but 7 run rule after 5 innings is in effect.
  • 10.International tie-breaker rule in effect after 7 innings.
  • 11. Two hour time limit for all games unless tied; any inning started though will be finished.
  • 12. No designated player in Squirtgirls Atlantics.
  • 13. Any player born in 1999 or later is eligible to compete in the Squirtgirls Atlantics.

2013 Canada Summer Games Women’s Softball Program
In preparation for the 2013 Canada Summer Games, Softball Nova Scotia’s coaching staff will be conducting identification/development camps on the following dates:

Registration is required and should there not be sufficient participation in a specific region, the athletes will be directed to the next nearest camp. These camps are open to athletes born 1992 or later.
