Mark Smith Named 2029 NS Female Canada Games Head Coach

Softball NS 2029 Canada Games head Coach Announcement

 

Softball Nova Scotia is pleased to announce that Mark Smith has been appointed Head Coach of our 2029 Women Canada Games Team. Mark brings elite international experience to this role.  He has served as Head Coach of both the Men’s and Women’s National Team programs, leading Canadian teams at the highest levels of world competition.

 

Mark has enjoyed tremendous success as both a pitcher/player and coach, guiding teams to multiple podiums finishes at major international events, including a bronze medal performance with the Women’s National Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  Mark has helped all four of Softball Canada’s national team programs reach the podium at World Championships or World Cups.

 

Mark is recognized as one of the greatest softball athletes of all time; Mark is also a member of multiple Halls of Fame at the local, provincial, national, and international levels.  He is also a recipient of the Coaching Excellence Award and has earned numerous additional coaching honours for his leadership and results on the world stage.

 

Softball NS is excited to welcome Mark to this position and look forward to the impact his experience, standards, and passion for the game of Softball will have on our Women Team Nova Scotia Canada Games Program.
